One of the best parts about getting married in Albuquerque over a long weekend is pretending that we are actually having an incredible destination wedding escape. Sure, there are no pristine beaches or palm trees here, but if you tell almost any other American where you are headed, they’ll remind you to take your passport and your English-to-Spanish dictionary! And while we don’t have the appeal of a tropical locale, we do have some incredible skiing, some incredible art, AMAZING local cuisine, and more Hollywood sightings/movie sets recently than anyone ever imagines.
So, if we are playing the Destination Wedding game, we have to have a homebase resort. We have chosen the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Albuquerque to serve as operation and vaction central. The Hy
att is not only the sole place in town not overdone in a southwestern decorating scheme, but also houses a pool/hot tub, a 24-hour gym, a steakhouse, a bar, a shopping galleria, an Enterprise Rent-a-Car station, AND a Starbucks! The hotel is also across the street from Civic Plaza, and one block from Historic Central Ave a.k.a Route 66 with ample dining, shopping, and nightlife within walking distance. You can visit the Hyatt at www.albuquerque.hyatt.com.
The Hyatt is also our preferred hotel choice because of the rate they have negotiated for our wedding guests! If you book a room though the link below, the group rate starts at $85 a night. After some quick research, not even the Best Western is offering something so economical for that weekend. You can book at: https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=945282. Note that while the website seems to think that the wedding is on Novemeber 27th, it is actually on November 28. Reservations can also be made via phone at (402) 592-6464.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you there!
